As IAQ specialty contractors, our mission is to provide comprehensive solutions to the indoor air quality issues that plague properties and their occupants. We are the problem-solvers who step in when a building's environment is negatively impacting the health, comfort, or productivity of the people who live or work there. Our work is not just about identifying problems; it's about implementing a range of practical, effective strategies to create a healthy indoor environment.
Often, the root of an IAQ problem is a physical defect in the building itself. A key part of our work involves repairing and sealing leaking ductwork. Damaged ducts can pull dirty air, dust, and contaminants from unconditioned spaces like attics and crawl spaces and distribute them throughout the building. By sealing these leaks, we ensure that the air circulating through the HVAC system is clean and conditioned. When materials like drywall, flooring, or insulation have been compromised by water damage, mold, or other contaminants, we perform demolition to remove contaminated materials. This is a critical step, as it's impossible to fix an IAQ problem without first removing its source. Following demolition, we perform deep structural cleaning to ensure that no lingering contaminants remain.
Beyond fixing the basics, we improve air quality by upgrading a building's ability to filter and condition the air. We install whole-house HEPA filtration systems to capture an incredibly high percentage of airborne particles, including fine dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores.
This significantly reduces the amount of particulate matter that occupants breathe in. In regions with high humidity, we add whole-house dehumidifiers to control moisture levels. Keeping relative humidity below 60% prevents the growth of mold and dust mites, which are major allergens and triggers for asthma.
Proper ventilation is crucial for a healthy building. We install whole-house ventilation systems, such as Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) and Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRVs), to bring in a constant supply of fresh, filtered outdoor air while exhausting stale indoor air. These systems are selected based on the climate of the region—ERVs are ideal for humid climates, while HRVs are better for colder ones. These systems not only remove pollutants but also help to control humidity and save energy.
Finally, we perform specialized cleaning services that can dramatically improve IAQ. Carpet and duct cleaning are essential services that remove a build-up of dust, dirt, dander, and allergens that have accumulated over time. By addressing the physical structure, controlling moisture and air flow, and performing a thorough cleaning, we provide a holistic solution that restores a building's air quality and creates a safer, healthier environment for its occupants.
